The Client
A structured wiring manufacturer.

The Challenge
The manufacturer recently rebranded and vastly expanded its product lines, requiring a more sophisticated design of their catalogue and Web site to showcase their products, and using a new set of graphic standards and
imagery.

A team of Freelance Forum Members participated in the project.

The Solution
We created a clean, open design for the catalogue and the Web site, using custom photography as well as lifestyle images to add to its visual appeal. The copywriting from the catalogue through the Web site is consistent and reflects Data Comm’s innovative positioning in its industry while maintaining their down-to-earth, approachable personality. The product photography was shot in studio and on location and is mixed in with stock photography.

The Web site uses a yellow grid to divide navigation from product information. The database-driven site shows each product individually and includes full search functionality for all products. Data Comm now has a real presence on the Web and a unified image. The catalogue and the Web site together strengthen their abilities to promote their high end product lines as well as their brand.

The Quote
“Data Comm Electronics recently made a large investment in rebranding the company. You helped us create a catalogue and Web site that highlights our rebranding and our new products. Our customers now see one style of communication from Data Comm Electronics, which helps us build our new brand. Thanks to your talents, skills and project oversight, our new catalogue and Web site now allow us to compete with the major companies in our industry.”

The Client
CPA firm

The Challenge
Help a 30-year old CPA firm claim its leadership role by leveraging its expertise in the field of dental practices. Despite its track record, the client lacked clear positioning, as well as a defining image, logo and tag line that
allowed it to claim that role. Plus, the addition of a new partner necessitated a name change, new logo and new marketing materials. A team of Freelance Forum Members participated in the project.

The Solution
Building on what we learned through competitive research and in-depth customer interviews, we carved out a new niche for Willeford Haile as “Dental Practice Advisors,” leveraging three decades of experience and proprietary financial tools created for the dental community. The new tag line, “Accounting for Financial Health Since 1975,” corporate identity package and range of marketing materials now reflect the CPA’s position of leadership in the marketplace. We carried the consistent theme throughout their overview brochure, Web site, a trade publication ad campaign, trade show graphics and
PowerPoint templates. And we topped that with product and service promotional one sheets and a knockout presentation folder to encase all of their materials.

The Quote
“You helped us evolve our communications to address a broader set of needs, building on our established track record and opening the door to new business. Best of all, the resulting materials and our presentations at the Hinman Dental Meeting helped us land a new account within a week of the conference! Thank you for continuing to work with us as true professionals – on time, on budget, and in the spirit of establishing a long-term relationship.”
– Raymond “Rick” Willeford, Principal
