Went from 5-page resume to one page, got 3 callbacks in 2 weeks

Been doing web design freelance in Abq for about 4 years. I used to send out a full portfolio summary with every pitch, listing every project since 2019. Nothing. Crickets. A buddy in Santa Fe told me to cut it down to just my last 3 gigs and a link to my site. Did that plus a photo of the actual work on top. Now I got three people asking about rates this month alone. Any of you tried trimming your pitch? How short is too short?

Tell me more about the photo part. Did you put the image right in the email or just link it? Because I keep going back and forth on that. Feels like attachments just get ignored these days, but a screenshot in the body might actually catch someone's eye. Curious if that's what made the real difference or if it was just the shorter pitch doing the work.
