Field notebooks used to be the whole record, now it's all drones and LiDAR

Back in the late 90s, when I was digging in the Sierra foothills near Auburn, every single find got penciled into a Rite in the Rain notebook, and if you lost that book, you lost the season. Now I walk sites with a tablet that syncs GPS points and photos to the cloud before I even pack up my trowel. It's faster, sure, but I still catch myself flipping pages that aren't there anymore. Any of you old school record keepers keep a paper backup just in case the battery dies or the signal drops out on a remote dig?
