TIL that paying $200 for a co-working day pass at a spot off Peachtree was a total waste
So last Thursday I finally checked out that new co-working space near the Peachtree Center MARTA station because I needed to get out of my apartment and actually meet some folks in Atlanta. I paid $200 for a day pass thinking it would be worth it for the networking events and the fancy coffee. Turns out the whole place was dead silent, everybody had headphones on, and the one 'networking mixer' was just three people awkwardly standing by a sad fruit tray. I tried to strike up a convo with a guy in a blazer and he just nodded and went back to his laptop. For that kind of cash I could have gone to a coffee shop on the Beltline and actually talked to people. I'm seriously starting to think the whole paid networking scene in this city is a joke unless you know where the real meetups are. Has anyone found a spot in Atlanta that's actually good for meeting people without shelling out hundreds?
