Pro tip: I used to skip the bonding check on pitot static installs until a guy in Denver set me straight
Back in March I was doing a static line swap on a King Air and got lazy and just tested for leaks instead of doing a proper bonding check across the fittings. An old timer at the shop in Denver watched me sign it off and said, "Son, a leak won't kill you in IMC but a bad bond will light you up on a ramp in the rain." Fast forward to June, we had a bird come in with intermittent air data faults and sure enough there was a loose bonding jumper on the static port that nobody caught for 200 hours. I still think about how close that was to being a real problem. How are you guys checking bonds on those tight installs where you can barely reach the fitting?
