Showerthought: the day a loose cannon plug cost me 9 hours taught me more than any clean sign-off
Last Tuesday I spent 9 hours chasing a bad air data signal on a King Air 350 and it turned out to be a loose cannon plug behind the pilot panel that I'd walked past twice. I started at 7am pulling the ADC unit, then traced harness runs with the meter for 3 hours, and at 4pm a senior guy leaned in, pushed the shell of the plug and it clicked. The pins looked fine to my eye, but the shell wasn't seated all the way and it was breaking contact on vibration. Honestly the worst part is I skipped the wiggle check on the first pass because I was sure it was the unit. Now I do the free checks before the expensive ones, every time. Has anyone else had a connector issue that faked out a whole system like that?
