That time I bought fancy bread flour and it didn't make a difference
I spent $12 on a bag of King Arthur bread flour because I saw all these baking pros swear by it. Thought it would make my homemade bread way better. Made three loaves with it and three with the regular store brand flour I always use. Honestly couldn't tell a difference in the rise or taste. My family ate both batches the same way. Maybe my baking skills aren't good enough to notice the upgrade. Anyone else wasted money on a specialty ingredient that flopped?

Choked on my coffee reading this. Your dogs chewed up the $15 spelt flour bag? That's brutal. Honestly impressed they went for it, mine would just sniff and walk away. Spelt in pancakes sounds like a disaster waiting to happen anyway, too dense for that. At least your dogs got some fiber out of the deal, I guess.

Oh man, I feel this. Dropped $15 on some organic spelt flour once because the blog said it made "nutty, artisan loaves." Tasted exactly like the regular spelt from the bulk bin. My dogs chewed up the bag too, so really got ripped off. Even tried it in pancakes, total bust.
