Vent: My sourdough bread split weirdly in the oven from bad scoring.
I watched a guide on how to score bread dough. My knife slip made the cuts too deep. Now the loaf has a giant tear down the side. What's the trick to scoring without ruining the rise?

Oh, absolutely. My dough was basically soup, which explains the... abstract art result. I'll blame my overenthusiastic water pouring.

Yeah, that tracks. I was aiming for that nice, open crumb and ended up with something closer to a pancake batter. The scoring knife just dragged through it like a stick in mud. My loaf came out looking less like art and more like a crime scene.
