Hot take: clippers over scissors for a beginner's fade, and I'll die on this hill
My shop in Dallas took on a new guy 4 weeks ago. He kept grabbing his shears for the sides and his fades looked choppy every single time. I made him switch to a clipper over comb and his work cleaned up in 2 days. The blade guards force you to keep an even line and you can't fake it like you can with a scissor over comb. Anyone here actually teach fades with shears first, or is that just old school talk?
