I finally got a straight razor shave to stop pulling after 3 weeks of messing with my strop
Picked up a vintage Geneva razor at a flea market in Tulsa for $22 and thought I'd be shaving like my old mentor by the weekend. Nope. It pulled so bad I went back to my DE for two weeks because I couldn't figure out what was off. Turned out my strop had a nick in it about an inch from the top that I never noticed, and that tiny cut was rolling the edge on every pass. Swapped in a $15 replacement strop, did 40 laps on linen then 60 on leather, and it shaved clean on the first try. Any of you ever chased an edge problem that turned out to be the strop instead of your honing?
