My clippers quit 10 minutes into a Saturday lineup and I'm still not sure what to blame
Three weeks ago in Chattanooga I had eight heads booked back to back starting at 8 am, and at 8:10 my main clipper just froze mid fade on a kid's head. I grabbed the backup, finished him fine, but the rest of the day I was jumpy every time the blade got loud. Took the dead one to a repair guy over on Broad Street and he opened it up and said it was packed with hair and the oil had gummed into a paste. Here's the part I keep thinking about: I clean my blades every night, but I guess I've been lazy about blowing out the inside of the body. He charged me $35 and told me a $10 can of compressed air once a week would have saved me the trip. So now I'm wondering if I'm the only one who ignores the guts of the tool and just treats the blade. Do you all blow out your clippers on a schedule, or did I just learn this the hard way like everything else?
