Why my fades always looked off in photos

Honestly, bad lighting was to blame.

Oh man, derekl78 is totally right about the starting point. My buddy had a terrible home haircut and tried to fix it with studio lights for a photo, but it just made every uneven line super clear. Good lighting shows everything, the good and the bad.

Look at how much lighting actually matters.

Yeah, it makes such a huge difference. Though sometimes even great lighting can't fix a really rough starting point, you know?
