Pro tip: the client who 'just needs a quick tweak' costs you a full week
Ngl, I had a retainer client in Austin ask for a simple landing page update last month. They said it would take 20 minutes, so I fit it between calls. Three days and 14 email threads later, I finally realized their real ask was a full redesign with new copy. Honestly, how do you draw the line between being flexible and letting scope creep eat your whole week? Does anyone else set a hard hour limit for these, or am I just being naive?

Man, that hits way too close to home. Had almost the same thing happen with a "minor nav change" that somehow turned into rebuilding their whole blog section by Friday. These days I just send a quick estimate back before touching anything, even if it feels like overkill, cause it forces them to actually say what they need.
