TIL why sending invoices on Fridays is a bad idea
I used to think Friday was the best day to send bills because clients would have the weekend to think about them. Then a client told me last month my invoice just got buried under their weekend emails and they forgot about it for two weeks. Now I send everything Monday morning and I've cut my average payment time from 45 days down to 21. Anybody else find a specific day that works best?

Hah! My buddy Ryan did that for years. Sent invoices every Friday at 4pm. Thought he was being clever. Ended up having to chase payments for 3 months straight from one client who "never saw it." Switched to Tuesdays after that. Cut his wait time in half. Now he swears by Tuesday mornings.

Who hurt you, Friday invoices?

Who hurt you, Friday invoices?" is definitely giving me flashbacks to my own invoice drama. My first freelance client used to pay on a "net 90 but only if I remember" schedule, so I feel this in my soul. (Turns out being an accountant doesn't mean I'm good at billing myself.)
