DAE finally admit the dice tower was never the problem, it was my shuffling?
Honestly I sat through a 4 hour game of Twilight Imperium last month and lost by 2 points because I kept drawing the same terrible cards. I blamed my dice tower, my sleeves, even the table, but then a guy at the shop in Austin asked me one simple thing about how I shuffle. Turns out I had been doing the overhand shuffle for like 6 years and barely mixing anything past the top third of the deck. He showed me a pile shuffle and a riffle and I timed it, 90 seconds for a 100 card deck. My next 3 games of Terraforming Mars felt completely different, way more balanced draws and way less whining from me. Now I'm wondering how many other people out there think they have bad luck when they just never learned to shuffle right. What's the one tiny game habit you changed that made you feel dumb for not doing sooner?
