Just realized my $230 grow light saved my tomatoes and burned my basil
Bought a full spectrum LED panel for $230 at a garden center in Columbus back in March. My tomato seedlings under it are the thickest, bushiest plants I've ever grown indoors. But I stuck the basil tray on the same shelf and it got fried in four days, leaves turned crispy and pale, just toast. Same light, same distance, opposite results. Turns out basil wants way less intensity than tomatoes and I didn't bother reading the chart on the box. Now I'm running the panel at half strength and shuffling trays around like a chess game every morning. Anyone else have a light that's perfect for one plant and a death ray for another? What's your spacing trick?
