TIL my neighbor's 30 year old monstera made me rethink plant feeding
She said she never fertilizes, just waters with fish tank runoff every 2 weeks, and I've been chasing fancy nutrient mixes for years. Is that lazy genius or just luck, has anyone else had a low maintenance plant outperform their pampered ones?

Fish tank water is basically liquid gold for plants, that's not lazy at all. She's been feeding that thing a steady diet of fish poop and bacteria for 30 years, your fancy bottled stuff probably can't compete with that living nutrient soup. Sometimes the simplest routine wins because it's consistent, and plants hate change more than they hate being hungry.
