My foreman in Charlotte said to always check the pallet for a broken brick before you start a run

Last month I ignored it, and a hidden crack cost me an hour of rework on a simple garden wall. Anyone else have a simple check they ALWAYS do now?

Actually, you check every brick.

Tbh @abby_murphy, you check the whole wall, not just bricks.

Ross.kim has a point about checking the whole wall... but I feel like that's the first step, not the only step. You look at the whole thing to spot the big problems, sure. Then you have to check the bricks, because one weak brick can mess up a whole section. It's both, not one or the other.

Yeah but ross.kim, you gotta check what's BEHIND the wall too. Moisture or bad framing will wreck everything no matter how good the bricks look.
