My rice cooker died mid-dinner, so I made soup in a coffee pot
Last Tuesday I had a bag of lentils and a sad carrot but no stove access because my landlord was fixing the gas line. My rice cooker gave up right before the lentils were done, so I dumped everything into my old drip coffee maker and ran it twice without the filter. It actually worked, the water cycle cooked the lentils enough and the carrot got soft. I ate it out of a mug and honestly it beat a lot of takeout I've had. Has anyone else tried cooking in a coffee maker when nothing else worked?

Damn that's actually genius lol, my coffee maker is just sitting there collecting dust and now I'm lowkey tempted to try this with some oats or something. Sorry your rice cooker gave up on you though, that's rough timing.
