Pork shoulder yield numbers surprised me after 15 years

I always figured a bone-in shoulder lost maybe 20% to bone and trimming. Last week I actually weighed everything on a 18 lb cut and it came out to 26% waste. Has anyone else run the numbers and found their yield assumptions were off?
