Showerthought: I stopped pre-finishing cabinet parts in the spray area and got a better result
Everyone keeps saying you have to spray all your parts flat before assembly, so I tried that on a maple kitchen in my garage in Akron last month, and I ended up with 3 doors where the finish pooled in the corners and dried uneven. I switched to spraying the boxes after glue-up with the faces masked, and honestly the finish came out flatter and I spent less time sanding touch-ups. Maybe it was my gun setup, but I think doing it assembled let me catch runs I would have missed laying flat. What setup do you all run for pre-finish, because I am not convinced flat is the only way anymore.
