The $60 toning wand I laughed at actually works

My old foreman swore by this cheap toning wand for tracing lines through finished walls, I figured it was just another gimmick. Used it on a 3 story apartment job in Austin last month, traced a buried coax drop in about 4 minutes flat where I'd normally be fishing for an hour. Anyone else had a budget tool that turned out way better than the price tag?
