The heat gun trick on frozen coax fittings saved my Tuesday in Minneapolis
Had a run of 6 drops in a old house up in Minneapolis last Tuesday and every fitting on the side of the house was so cold the rubber boots wouldn't slide on. I fought the first two for 20 minutes each, fingers going numb, and almost went back to the truck for a new roll of cable. Then my partner grabbed the heat gun and warmed each fitting for about 10 seconds, just enough to soften things up, and they slid right on. Did the last 4 drops in half the time. Anyone else keep a heat gun on the truck for cold weather days or do you use something else?
