Why does nobody mention the crawlspace flooding when you quote a job
Was running a quad shield RG6 line in a crawlspace out in Garland last Tuesday and hit standing water about 8 inches deep. Nobody warned me. Homeowner just smiled and said the sump pump quit in March. I stood there in soaked boots with my fish tape in my hand and had to decide fast, so I pulled the run along the joists instead of the floor and zip tied every 3 feet. Cost me 40 extra minutes and a nasty cold two days later. I still finished the job and the signal checked clean at the box, but I should have asked about water before I ever opened that hatch. Now I keep a cheap pair of rubber boots in the van for jobs like this. What do you guys check before you get under a house like that?
