Guy at the supply house in Tulsa said I was stretching carpet wrong, and now I can't stop thinking about it
I was loading a 12 foot roll into my van last Tuesday and the old guy behind the counter, Larry, watched me for a second and asked why I always stretch toward the seam instead of away from it. I told him I was taught that way 15 years ago, and he just shrugged and said 'the backing knows which way it wants to go,' which sounds like nonsense but now I'm second guessing every stretch I do. Has anyone else had an old timer drop a random one liner that messed with your whole method?
