Got ghosted by a client after 60 days of waiting on a $1,500 check
I finished a roof patch for a homeowner in Akron three months ago. They said the check was in the mail for two weeks before I realized they were lying. I finally drove to their house and waited on their porch until they handed me cash. Has anyone else had to show up in person to get paid?

Man oh man that is infuriating! Honestly waiting 60 days for a check and getting the runaround would have made me see red. But here's my question for you and I'm genuinely curious. When you were sitting on that porch did you feel like you had to go that far or did something inside you just snap? Because I bet there was a moment where you thought about just walking away and writing it off as a loss. But you didn't. Was it the money or the principle that made you stay there waiting? I know for a lot of people the disrespect of being lied to stings way worse than losing the cash itself.

Used to think it was just about the cash, but nope, definitely the disrespect now lol.

$12,000 is a lot to just walk away from. But you're right, the disrespect is what really gets under your skin.
