Net-30 terms are a trap when your client's accountant ghosts you
Got stiffed 45 days past due last month by a retail shop in Austin, and their bookkeeper just stopped answering calls after 3 tries. Since when did 'we'll pay when we pay' become the standard for a signed contract? Anyone else start demanding a deposit on every first job over $2k?
Getting ghosted by their own accountant is such a gut punch, I feel for you on that one. A deposit on anything over $2k sounds like a solid rule to keep from getting burned twice.
