Almost 20 years of wire brushing flues and a chat at the supply house in Dayton got me to try the whip head
I've been doing this since 2007 and I always figured a stiff wire brush was the only way to get creosote off. Last Tuesday I'm loading up at the supply house on Third and this older sweep named Walt sees my brush and says, "you're still dragging that dinosaur around?" I laughed it off but he pulled out this plastic whip head and told me it flexes into the offsets way better than wire ever will. Tried it on a two story colonial in Oakwood Friday and it cleaned the smoke chamber corners cleaner than my brush has in years, and it took me about 10 minutes less. So now I'm eating crow. Any of you running whip heads full time, and how do they hold up on really glazed stuff?
