First soot vac in 2008 weighed 25 pounds, my new one is lighter than my lunch bag
I started sweeping in 2008 and my first vacuum was a 25 pound beast that I had to haul up a ladder one handed, arms burning by the third roof. These days I can carry the vac, rods, and brushes in one trip and still have a hand free for the ladder. What killed the old setup was the filters, they clogged halfway through a job and I would lose 20 minutes banging dust out on the driveway. Now a HEPA pleated filter lasts me a full week of flues before I even think about it. Has anyone found a bag setup that holds up on really gritty creosote, or am I better off sticking with what came in the box?
