Showerthought: my client called me 'the help' and I've been thinking about it for 3 days
Honestly I was on a call with a guy who runs a small marketing firm, and while he was talking to someone in the room he goes 'yeah the help is handling it, don't worry.' I was literally the person he hired to write his whole email campaign for $2,400. Ngl at first I laughed it off, but then I realized he's been paying me late for 4 months and always asks for 'one more quick thing' that turns into 3 hours of work. Tbh the funny part is he thinks he's the boss but I'm the one who knows his passwords and fixes his scheduling every single week. So now I'm wondering, do I just raise my rate by 40% and call it a jerk tax, or do I fire him and lose the steady cash? Has anyone else had a client casually say something that made you see the whole deal differently?
