A client at a kitchen remodel in Boise handed me a $3,000 deposit in a ziploc bag of crumpled bills
I was packing up my truck after a tile job last month when she ran out with the bag and said the bank was too far. I counted it twice at home and it was all there, but I still had to sit at my desk for an hour sorting ones and fives into stacks. That night I typed up a one page contract that says deposits get paid by check or transfer, no exceptions. Two guys I know have taken cash like this and both got burned on the back end when the client claimed they overpaid. Anyone here had luck asking for a deposit through an app instead of paper, or does that just add a fee layer?
