PSA: the Monday a client sent 23 emails before 10am taught me to quote in writing
Back when I was doing freelance web work out of my apartment in Sacramento, I had one Monday that still sticks with me. A guy running a small bike shop sent me 23 emails before 10am, each one a slightly different version of "can you also add this." By lunch he wanted the whole thing redone and said he never asked for half of what was in my notes. I had nothing in writing except a handshake and a deposit, so I ate it. Back then I thought being easy to work with meant saying yes to everything on the spot. Now I put scope in an email and make folks reply "approved" before I touch a thing. Has anyone else had a client who rewrites history the second you ask for more money?
