Bought a $60 Udemy course, ended up learning more from free YouTube

I grabbed a Python course on sale last month because I kept getting stuck on loops and dictionaries. The videos were fine but the instructor went way too fast and the practice problems felt impossible. Has anyone else had better luck just following free tutorials and building small projects instead?

ugh that's the worst feeling, dropping money on something that just doesn't click. i feel like half the battle is just finding someone who explains it the way your brain works, and youtube's got so many options that something usually lands.

Three credit cards, two course bundles, and one way-too-expensive masterclass later, I finally found a guy on YouTube who teaches with random pizza analogies. My brain apparently only learns when toppings are involved. So yeah, I get it. The money's gone, but at least I can now explain database indexes using pepperoni placement.
