Vent: my coworker in Tucson asked me why 'hello world' didn't have a button to click, and I still think about it
He had never seen a terminal before, and when I ran the 4-line script he just stared and said 'so where do I click?' It made me realize how much of coding for beginners is just learning what a screen even is, so how do you explain the command line to someone who has only used phones?

Oh man, I heard a podcast once where a teacher said she teaches the command line by comparing it to texting a really obedient friend who only does exactly what you say. That clicked for me, cause a phone user already gets that there's no button, you just type what you want. Maybe it's just me but the hardest part is getting them to trust that nothing happens unless you hit enter.
