A guy at the Chicago Comic Con told me my longboxes were ruining my books and now I bag and board everything
I was at Chicago Comic Con about 3 months ago digging through a dollar bin when this older guy next to me saw me shoving books straight into a longbox with no bag. He said I was cracking spines and scuffing covers every time I flipped through them. I had about 400 books at home stored that way since 2019 and never thought twice about it. He showed me a few of his books from the 80s that still looked new because he always bagged and boarded. I went home and spent $40 on supplies and redid my whole collection over a weekend. Now I'm wondering if I should switch to short boxes too since the longboxes are getting heavy. Does anyone here use short boxes for everything or do you split them up?
