I finally figured out why my pull list was so messy

For like 3 years I kept every single issue I bought in one big box, even the ones I didn't like. Last Tuesday I was digging for issue #87 of this indie series and found 12 copies of a comic I kept buying by accident because I never wrote down what I had. My buddy Mike came over and saw my pile, he said, "you're hoarding, not collecting." Now I sort by title and alphabet, and I only keep runs I actually re-read. Has anyone else hit that moment where you realize your storage system is the real villain?
