PSA: My underwater cutting torch took me 4 hours to fix because I forgot to check the o-rings.
Spent a whole morning chasing a flame issue on a repair job near the Port of Seattle, swapped every damn fitting before I figured out it was a dried out o-ring in the handle. Anyone else waste half a shift on something that stupid simple?

Dried out o-rings are just life's way of reminding us to check the cheap stuff first.

Jana's dead on with that. I remember reading some old welder's forum post where a guy spent three days rebuilding his whole torch setup on a shrimp boat, turns out it was just a cracked o-ring letting moisture in. It's wild how something that costs maybe fifty cents can bring a whole operation to a halt. I try to keep a little kit with assorted o-rings in my truck now after a similar thing happened with my plasma cutter - never again lol.
