TIL I was cleaning thermal paste with the wrong stuff for 6 years
Had a Dell XPS in last Tuesday that kept hitting 95C, and after I scraped the old paste off with a plastic card and swapped in some MX-4, it dropped to 68C under load. What are you all using to wipe the die clean, because 91% isopropyl and a coffee filter is apparently not it.
