Old timer at a pour in Fresno told me to stop overworking the bull float, and he was right
I was finishing a 30x40 slab for a shop out near Clovis and kept hitting the same spot with the bull float trying to get it perfect. This guy named Ray, probably 70 years old, said to me, leave it alone, you are just bringing up more cream and you will get a crust on it. I slowed down and let the bleed water come back, and the finish came out way cleaner with almost no touch up. Anyone else have a guy like that who saved a pour with one sentence?
