Rented a power trowel blind, cost me 3 days of finish time

Rented a used power trowel from a local yard for $150/day and it ran rough, left chatter marks all over a garage slab in Boise. Had to grind and redo the surface, which ate up 3 days and another $200 in blades. Anyone else swear by checking the rotor bearing before you leave the lot?
