Tried burning my own mix on a 12x12 pad in Tulsa and it cost me a whole pour
I poured a 12x12 shed pad in Tulsa two weeks ago and tried mixing and finishing it myself with a burned edge trick I saw online. Started the burn way too early while the concrete was still wet, and by the time I floated it the surface was a mess of dark patches and swirl marks. Ended up jackhammering the whole thing out and re-pouring it three days later with a proper mix and a slow hard trowel pass at the right time. Cost me about $800 in extra mud and a wasted Saturday, plus the homeowner watched the whole thing. Anyone else gotten burned trying a shortcut they saw in a video instead of just doing it the way you know works?
