Subcontractor lien waiver came back with dates that made no sense

I had a job in Phoenix last month where the GC sent me a final lien waiver to sign before cutting the last check. The waiver said the work was complete as of the 15th, but we didn't finish till the 22nd because of a drywall delay. I asked them to fix it, and they said it was just their standard form and everyone signs it as is. I held my ground for three days going back and forth, and finally their lawyer rewrote it. If I had signed that thing, I could have lost my right to file a lien for any unpaid extras down the road. Has anyone else had a GC push a waiver with wrong dates, and did you just sign it to keep the money coming?
