Swapped the 3 page auto-renew notice for a 30 day one and my client actually thanked me
I spent last Tuesday rewriting the renewal section of a small design contract for a client in Austin, and the difference was night and day. The old version buried a 3 page auto-renew in the middle, so the client only found it after a bad experience with another vendor. I moved it to page one with a 30 day opt-out window and a plain sentence explaining what happens if they do nothing. She wrote back saying it was the first time she understood a renewal clause on the first read. Has anyone else moved renewal terms up front like this, or do you keep them in the back and just flag them in an email?
