Told the guy in Austin to drop the non-compete or I walk, and I actually walked
Six months ago my buddy asked me to help him run his food truck in Austin for a few weekends, and he sent over a little one page agreement. Buried at the bottom was a non-compete saying I could not work at another food truck within 20 miles for a year after we stopped. I asked him to cut it and he said his lawyer put it in there for safety. I sat in my car for about 10 minutes and decided I would rather lose the gig than sign that. He called two days later and took the clause out, and I worked there until he sold the truck in March. Has anyone else walked away over one bad clause and had the other person come around?
