Two landlord contracts, one had a poison exit clause I almost missed

I compare every lease I sign side by side now after a near miss in October. I was choosing between two landlords for the same style unit, one in Austin and one in Round Rock. The Austin lease had a standard 60 day exit notice buried on page 9, but the Round Rock one had a clause that tied my exit to finding a replacement tenant at the same rent, no exceptions. I almost signed the Round Rock one because the rent was $150 cheaper. Then I ran both through a simple checklist I made for early termination terms, penalties, and assignment rights. The Austin one let me sublet with written permission, the Round Rock one flat out banned subletting. That difference would have left me stuck for 8 months if I needed to move for work. Has anyone else seen leases that look similar but hide totally different exit paths? What do you scan for first?
