Went from guessing lumber loads by eye to a $12 angle finder, wish I'd done it years ago
I used to eyeball every cut on deck stairs and just hope the rise came out close, then my brother in law handed me a cheap magnetic angle finder and now I check every stringer before I cut. Last Saturday it caught a 4 degree difference on the third step that would've thrown the whole rail off. Anyone else got a small tool like that they put off buying way too long?
