Between the $12 brush and the $45 one, the cheap one won my station

I bought a high end round brush from a Chicago supply store after watching all those instagram demos, but my wrists were cramping by hour 3. Switched back to that old generic brush from beauty school and my blowouts finished 20 minutes faster with way less tugging. The expensive one just had too much metal weight for fine hair sections, and I couldn't control the tension on short layers. Has anyone else found that pricier tools sometimes overcomplicate what a simple grip can do?
