The instructor at a Philly barber expo told me to stop using clippers on wet hair, and I think he is wrong
I sat through a 90 minute class at the expo on South Broad last Saturday and the guy kept saying wet cutting with clippers wrecks your blades and pulls the hair. I have been doing wet fades on tight curls for 6 years and my blades last fine, plus the cut comes out cleaner. He was demoing on a guy with straight hair the whole time, which is not the same thing at all. I get that dry cutting has its place but telling a room full of stylists it is the only way feels like a stretch. Has anyone else noticed these teachers only practice on one hair type and then act like it applies to everybody?
