Unpopular opinion: a $9 color wheel from a craft store in Reno fixed my shade matching
I kept getting complaints from two or three clients that their base color looked a little off in daylight, even though it looked fine in my chair. Finally I took a cheap plastic color wheel and started holding swatches up next to each client's skin in front of the window instead of under my salon lights. After about six weeks of doing it on every single color client, my redo requests dropped from roughly one a week to zero in the last five weeks. My lighting was warm and it was fooling my eyes the whole time. Does anyone here check swatches in natural light, or am I the last one to figure this out?
