Vent: I stopped signaling with hand gestures and switched to a radio, and now I'm second guessing it
For 8 years I ran every pick with hand signals and honestly it worked fine, even on a 200 foot boom over in Gary, Indiana. Then my new spotter last month could not read a single signal right, so I grabbed a two way radio and now every lift feels slower but way less scary. Here is my problem though, half the old timers on my crew say radios make you lazy and you stop watching the load with your own eyes. The other half say radios cut the guesswork and I should have switched years ago. What do you all run on a busy pour, hand signals, radio, or both at once?
